Boreen Point - Cities, Towns and Localities

The village of Boreen Point is located on the shores of Lake Cootharaba, the largest lake of the Noosa River System. The lake itself is about 10 km long and 5 km wide and is popular with sailing and boating enthusiasts, home to windsurfing and yachting competition.

About 175 km from Brisbane, other attractions in the area include Cooloola National Park and the eco friendly Kabi Golf Course.

• Organic golf course and orchard. Kabi Golf Course was created to provide a place for recreation while preserving the environment.

Located just north of Noosa Heads, Kabi Golf Course is the only certified organic golf course in the southern hemisphere. The entire property is maintained organically, without the use of any synthetic fertilisers, pesticides or any other form of chemical that are commonly used on golf courses and orchards.

The total size of the property is 300 acres, containing some 1,300 fruit trees and with 120 acres of forest forming a buffer zone, devoted to the conservation of native flora and fauna. The whole facility is designed around providing a home for the local wildlife that include black cockatoos, forest kingfishers, whistling kites, king parrot's, kangaroos and wallabies. In fact, animals have the right of way on the course at all times.

It is an 18-hole par 3 course, with challenging fast undulating Bermuda greens that are professionally designed and a 9-hole full-length course. A full size tennis court is also available for hire.
