The Bowling Green Bay National Park is a large coastal park between Townsville and Bowen
supporting a diverse range of habitats, including tropical
rainforest, salt pans, sand flats, coastal wetlands,
mangroves, and the rugged Mount Elliott (1342 m). Covering
some 55000ha this park also features Alligator Creek and the
Alligator falls situated between the two highest peaks in
the park Mt Elliott and Saddle Mountain. The park is also
home to a large variety of cicada's. Their high pitched
whine can be heard throughout the summer months. Camping
is by permit only and advance bookings are required as only
25 people are allowed to camp at any one time in the park.

provided for day visitors and campers.
