Cape Melville National Park - Cities, Towns and Localities
Isolated and remote would best describe the Cape Melville National Park, the nearest supply station is 9 - 12 hours drive. There are no visitor facilities whatsoever, and access is only during the dry season. All supplies must be brought into the park includes petrol, food, medical supplies, water. Camping is by permit only. Please contact the ranger in charge to organise your trip.

The park is the original home of the Foxtail Palm now popular all over Australia for its large and lush fronds. The landscape here can easily be described as rugged with unusual geological formations and wildlife. If you have more information on this park and would like to share it with us for publication please email us.

Contact the local Parks and Wildlife Service or visit the QLD National parks, marine parks and forests website. In addition to our listed online travel guide information, contact the local tourism visitor centre for your destination for more attractions, tours, local maps and other information.
