Small isolated and little known this park is only for the
adventurous bushwalker. Located 30km north of Guthalungra
access to the park is by boat only. The location was
originally named by Captain Cook in June 1770 on his voyage
of discovery up the Queensland coast. An observatory was
established in the park at one time and would still make for
a wonderful light pollution free observatory location.
Thick bush, vine thickets, wetlands, with some heath
surround an imposing granite headland fringed by sandy
beaches. Native animals are plentiful. The surrounding
property a former cattle station is being returned to a more
natural state with assistance from the National Parks &
