Just south of Cooktown the Cedar Bay National Park is
remote in that you cannot drive into it. All access to the
park is by boat or walking. Once inside the park you will
find dense tropical rainforest, long sandy beaches and wind
sculpted headlands. Camping is by permit only and must be
obtained prior to going into the park. Swimming during the
summer months can be dangerous due to the presence of marine
stingers. Contact the local Parks and Wildlife Service or visit the
QLD National parks, marine parks and forests website. In addition to
our listed online travel guide information, contact the local tourism
visitor centre for your destination for more attractions, tours, local
maps and other information. |
