Gladstone and the Gladstone Region offers a great number of attractions and tours for the visitor. From the number of national parks, through hinterland and out onto the coastal islands, there is something for everyone.

Gladstone Attractions

Capricornia Cays National Park
• Made up of 22 reefs at the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef on the Tropic of Capricorn. There are 16 coral cays  attached to the reefs with the largest being North West Island at 105ha. 8 of these cays are part of the National Park, with 4 available for camping, they are Tyron Island, North West Island, Masthead Island, and Lady Musgrave Island.
Castle Tower National Park
• Just south of Gladstone lies this small but impressive park with large granite outcrops and the main feature being Mt Castle Tower itself. Difficult climb to the mountain top but those who persevere will be rewarded with views over the Boyne Valley with Gladstone in the distance.
Deepwater National Park
• Access to the park is via Agnes Waters to the north and camping is permitted at Wreck Rock, picnic tables and composting toilets are available. No 4WD driving on beaches is allowed because of the many species of turtle that use the beaches for nesting.

• Is dedicated to promoting the visual arts and crafts for and by the communities of the Port Curtis region and Central Queensland in addition to acting as a focal point for the preservation and display of the region's history and cultural heritage.
Lake Awoonga
• Lake Awoonga is located 30 km from Gladstone in Central Queensland and boasts spectacular lake and mountain views and picturesque waterfalls. Excellent recreation facilities are provided free to the public by the Gladstone Area Water Board with shelter sheds and barbecues, walking paths and playgrounds.

• The 308 nautical mile ocean race is Queensland's premier blue water classic. The race is one of Australia's major sporting events held over the Easter weekend.

• Featuring a week long Marina Mardi Gras that features free live on-stage entertainment, street theatre, buskers, street parade, markets and three giant fireworks displays. Combine this with a diverse range of sporting and cultural activities around the city and top it off with the exciting finish of the famous blue water classic the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race and you have the makings of a fabulous fun filled event.
