Gold Coast Hinterland is made up of the spectacular McPherson Range,
and a number of towns including Mudgeeraba and Nerang. Mudgeeraba is
a country town set at the base of the Tallai Hills. On the first
Saturday of the month is a popular village fair which features a
number of different stalls and entertainment. Nerang and the Nerang
River also offers taste of the country lifestyle. Heading west from Nerang or Oxenford
is the first part of the McPherson
Range. Here is the famous Tamborine Mountain, which itself
is comprised of 9 individual National Parks. Continuing on you
will also come to the Springbrook National Park, based
around Mount Cougal, Natural Bridge, and Springbrook. You can take
the scenic drive
to Springbrook, along the Springbrook Road from Mudgeeraba,
passing fantastic rainforest along the way.
