Injune - Cities, Towns and Localities

Gateway to the
Carnarvon National Park

Located in the Western Downs district between Roma and Rolleston, Injune is the southern ‘Gateway to the Carnarvon National Park’. The largest town in the Bungil Shire, the town got its name from the railway siding (named Injune Creek).

Injune is a clean, quiet town and an ideal base from which to experience the surrounding region. Nestled in the Great Dividing Range, the climate ranges from cold crisp winters to hot summers, offering perfect autumn and spring weather.

Injune Attractions

Injune Information Centre
• The information centre is the first place to drop into to find out what there is to see and do. Located right on the main highway through town, the centre is a log-style building surrounded by a spacious park area, where there is a playground for children, as well as an amenities block. Pop into the centre for a chat with the helpful staff and volunteers, browse through the original local art on display, and then relax with a cup of tea or coffee on the northern facing veranda. Caravan Park bookings can also be made through the centre.
