Part of the Cape York Peninsula and just 752 km north of Cairns is this wilderness area containing
the largest remaining area of lowland tropical rainforest in Australia. Rich in
also has spectacular coastal scenery with long sweeping beaches and rocky
outcrops, as well as rugged, heath-covered ranges.
The Kuuku Yau people are
the Traditional Owners of this country, otherwise known as Kawadji, the people
of the east. They, along with their ancestors, have maintained a strong
cultural and spiritual link to this area for thousands of years.
