The Mossman-Daintree was first established by timber
millers looking for red cedar. A timber museum in the small
township of Daintree details the history of the area.
Mossman a charming regional centre is Australia's most
northerly sugar cane town and tropical fruit growing area.
Guided tours of the Mossman Central Mill are available
throughout the sugar cane harvesting season from June to

very scenic section of the World Heritage listed Daintree
National Park and is also home to the Kuku Yalanji people
the area's traditional Aboriginal landowners. Guided
