An easy 20 minute drive north of Cairns lies the idyllic Palm Cove, known
as the northern beaches of Cairns. This area was once home to
sugar cane farms but nowadays is home to 5 star resorts, apartments, and a range
of other accommodation options
catering to the discerning traveller. Palm Cove offers plenty of activities,
from the adrenaline rush of sky driving or bungee jumping, exploring the natural
world of the rainforest and Great Barrier Reef, snorkelling and diving or
relaxing on the number of pristine beaches in the area.
There is plenty to do with the kids with Cairns Tropical Zoo, Butterfly
World and Bird World nearby or going on one of the many tours and charters on
offer. If you just want to de-stress, then Palm Cove has a number of spas and
wellness centres all located within the area. Palm Cove's close proximity to the many tourist attractions
of Cairns and surrounds, to areas like Kuranda and the
rainforest are all close by and easy to get to. All this highlights why this is
one of Queensland popular tourist destination.
