Located north west of
Townsville the Paluma Range
National Park is actually made up of two sections the Jourama Falls and Mount Spec sections covering an area of
some 7,200 ha within the World Heritage Wet Tropics area which
covers some 9000 sq kilometres of far north Queensland.
Here you will find some of the best examples of high
Australian Rainforest, Mt Spec rising over 1000m in height
receives nearly 3000mm of rain annually that's 120" in
the old scale and 3 times the rainfall of the surrounding
country side. The parks are networked with small rivers and
waterfalls including Waterview Creek which in turn feeds
Jourama Falls one of many waterfalls, and cascades and river
rapids throughout the area.
