Quilpie is opal country. The district itself was founded on sheep
and cattle and is now the commercial and social centre of Quilpie
Attractions include tourist drives,
fossicking for opals, fishing, yabbying, a visit to Lake Houdraman,
Bulloo River and Baldy Top Lookout.
