With its sub-tropical climate, the picturesque seaside city of Redcliffe is
nestled on the edge of Moreton Bay, on a peninsula south of
Deception Bay, with Redcliffe just 35 km north of
Queenslands capital city of Brisbane.
As the site of Queenslands first European settlement in 1824, it is today a
thriving coastal centre. With its 22 km of beautiful coastline, sandy beaches
and scenic parks, other attractions include Moreton Bay, Hays Inlet and the
Glasshouse Mountains. Redcliffe is also the departure point for the Southern Bay
Islands of Moreton Bay. There are regular ferry and barge services departing
from Redland Bay and services Russell, Lamb, Macleay and Karragarra Islands.
