Just 100 km north of
Brisbane or an hours drive from Brisbane International Airport, the Sunshine
Coast stretches for some 50 km from Caloundra City in the south, through
Maroochy Shire, to Noosa Shire in the north. Following the Bruce Highway as it
sweeps north from Brisbane through the Sunshine Coast subtropical hinterland,
you will past the scenic countryside filled with the crags of Glass House
Mountains, national parks, forests, waterfalls and villages.
West of the Bruce Highway, are the Blackall Ranges, Montville, Maleny and a
number of other villages. Following the Mary River north from its headwaters
towards Gympie, you come across a series of state forests and rural townships,
all linked by the Mary
Valley star attraction
the Mary Valley Heritage Railway.
