Please note that this map is not to scale, but is
provided to give you an indication of the locality of certain islands
around the Queensland coast. South of Queensland is the New South Wales
border, to the west of Queensland is the Northern Territory border, and
to the south-west of Queensland is the South Australias border. The
Gulf of Carpentaria is on the west side of Cape York Peninsula, and the
Torres Strait stands between the tip of Cape York Peninsula and Papua
New Guinea. To the east of Cape York Peninsula is the Coral Sea and the
Pacific Ocean which is east of Queensland. Please note that this is
not a definitive list of islands around Queensland, if we have missed
any, please feel free to
email us the additions. If you have information to write about the Island, you can send that
to us and if it is accepted, we will put your
name as the contributor. Images
are also welcomed. |
