One of the easiest and quickest ways to get from point A to
point B is via air. Whether it is on an international flight or domestic flight
air travel is fairly easy to research and arrange these days.
For travellers to Queensland, their are a number of airports that service
both domestic and international flights, the top three being in Brisbane, Cairns
and the Gold Coast. Townsville also has an airport that provide connecting
flights from international airports such as Brisbane and Cairns.
All airlines have their own website, with some, especially the major brands
providing special offers, discounts or promotional deals, especially to members.
Usually membership is available online, where by joining you are automatically
notified of any specials, especially cut price fares.

Of course, you must remember to take into account any ‘hidden fees’ or
‘applicable fees’ such as ‘checked luggage’ or ‘excess baggage’, special seating
(for those requiring more leg room), inflight refreshment or entertainment (some
airlines charge for this), advance seating or assigned seating (where you can
select a seat for a charge), and credit card fees (especially in cases where the
airline does not accept EFTPOS). More often than not, these ancillary products
(fees) are only revealed if you purchase your ticket through the airlines own
website, at airport kiosks, when you check in or after you have purchased the
ticket. Of course air travel can be a tour or charter. These sightseeing
flights offer a different way to see the country, especially for the more
difficult to get to areas. Helicopters rides also provide a great way to see a
particular region, throwing a different perspective on the landscape.
If you want to compare prices between airlines, you can either opt to go to
the individual airline websites and check the prices there or use one of a
number of airline price comparison sites that can show flights and the latest
deals they have on offer.
Many service providers have a national presence,
whilst others have businesses that are state/town/city specific. These can be
viewed by clicking on the appropriate State and Territory Transport link.
There are also tour operators that
offer transportation as part of their tour package. |
