• Details: one needs no longer to pitch camp in the “junky” OODNADATTA Roadhouse campground. The locals have banded together and built a (not unpleasant) currently FREE campground down by the river. Access is via the road past the airstrip... a 5 minute (even caravan friendly!) drive. The weird sounds you’ll hear at night are the local HORSES wading through the river for a drink! by Maz, 2004
• Details: there are now 2 campgrounds in the tiny “village” of William Creek on the Oodnadatta Track. For a guaranteed “quiet” night, with exceptionally clean and numerous amenities, stay on the Southern side of the Track, across the road from the well-frequented William Creek Hotel (which itself provides accommodation for busloads of school children, backpackers, as well as campers etc). by Maz, 2004

Offers bush walking, bird watching and a place to rest and relax. Over 70 varieties of birds recorded in the area. There is a large variety of flora throughout the hills. May close over summer months due to extreme heat.

It does not run as a cattle station, but is a privately owned and operated Lease within the Witjira National Park, servicing travellers of the Simpson Desert. We also do vehicle recovery.
