Welcome to accommodation Farina, South Australia. Farina is one of those historic towns which was settled during the early
opening of the ‘outback’. Surveyed in 1878, it was named ‘Farina’, with the hope it would become the ‘Granary of the North’.
Instead, lack of rain saw the town develop as the head of the railway and the
beginning of all the tracks beyond.
Today, you can view the ruins that remain. They are ruins that tell a story of
lives lived and the struggle they faced. Visit the cemetery and wonder at the
cultures that came together to build and open the ‘vast outback’.
