Angaston from Menglers Lookout - Barossa Valley

In 1842 a Mr George Fife Angas sponsored German Lutheran immigrants to settle in this region which now bears his name. The Union Chapel located in Angaston is one of the oldest churches in South Australia.

Today the town is home to one of the largest family dynasties in the region and as with all the towns in this glorious region famous for the wonderful wines produced here.

• Lindsay Park, South Australia, is an international racing success story, which began with Colin S Hayes (AM-OBE) and a single gelding over 50 years ago. Today it is still the home of the Hayes Family and is home to some of the world’s most magnificent racehorses.

This exciting tour takes you through the picturesque property and gives you an exclusive insight into this racing and breeding empire. See their legendary stallions, mares, foals, yearlings, racehorses and retired champions of yesteryear.

Observe the four worktracks, swimming pool, farrier shop, and veterinary clinic, and understand why Queen Elizabeth II called the stables “a room with a view”.

Visit the historic family homestead surrounded with lush tranquil gardens and a 150 year old olive grove.
