A world away in your own backyard
Located just 20 minutes from Adelaide city centre this 835
hectare historical park the first national park in South
Australia was established in 1891, becoming the 2nd national
park in Australia after the Royal National Park in Sydney.
It provides recreation activities such as tennis, cricket,
18 hole golf course, and football. The park still provides a
safe haven for many species of native animals although most
of the surrounding areas have been disturbed by human
activity. Old Government House also lies
within the heart of the national park. This magnificent
residence was at one stage the governors summer residence
and was used off and on from 1860s. The surrounding gardens
are also spectacular. Most of the flora species within the
park consist of South Australian native plant and trees. For additional accommodation, attraction, tours and other information
