Brighton - Cities, Towns and Localities

Originally an agricultural area surveyed by Colonial William Light in 1838 and found to be well suited to the raising of wheat and grapes. It wasn’t long before people from Adelaide identified the area as better suited to them and their holiday homes. Being close to the beach and with a perfect climate (Mediterranean), Brighton soon boomed.

With the introduction of cars the area developed many hotels and other accommodation houses and today the town is a mecca for sun worshippers and cafe late drinkers enjoying the views over the beach.
