From here there are many fantastic drives, taking you through and to some spectacular scenery and fabulous lookouts, such as the Jarvis Hill Lookout. On the hillside south of Hawker, is the Yourambulla Caves containing Aboriginal paintings. Other attractions include the historic Kanyaka Station Homestead (dating from 1850s), the Moralana Scenic Drive (commencing 20 km north of Hawker) providing views of the Elder Range made famous through the paintings by Sir Hans Heysen. As you keep travelling north there is Wilpena, where you can spend time walking the Pound, climbing St Mary’s Peak and enjoying the native flora and fauna.
 

Of course if that is not enough, there is the Brachina Gorge, Bunyeroo Valley and Aroona Valley.
