Just 41 km from Port Augusta via Stirling North and Pichi Richi
Pass is the town of Quorn, making the ideal base from which to visit the
nearby attractions such as Warren and Buckaringa Gorges and the
Dutchmans Stern Conservation Park.
Quorn is home to the Pichi Richi Railway, one of Australias
best-known steam train journeys. For train timetable, fares and
bookings check their website. The towns railway history started in
1879 when the narrow gauge railway reached Quorn from Port Augusta.
Closed in 1957, it was restored and reopened in 1974.
