The second largest city in South Australia, Whyalla is a dynamic
community located on the western shores of the upper Spencer Gulf.
Originally founded in 1901 as the town of Hummock Hill, Whyalla has a
rich historical history, especially in the Australian steel industry. Located about 76 km from Port August and 380 km from Adelaide, Whyalla is
the northern gateway to Eyre Peninsula, a seaside city offering a Mediterranean
style climate.
