FEATURE:
See the best
that Tasmania has to offer by air. Offering both helicopter
or small charter aeroplane, the flights offer an magical
experience of mountains, gorges rivers and lakes. Offering a
variety of options including:
- Cradle Mountain/Lake St Clair World Heritage Area
- Sarah Island
- Teepookana Forest
- Frenchman’s Cap, Franklin River, Gordon River
We certainly enjoyed the Teepookana Forest helicopter ride.
Passing over dense rain forests, as we follow the King River
Gorge, landing at Teepookana. A short board walk to the
viewing tower, that gave us 360° views
of Macquarie Harbour region and the mountain ranges. With a
close up view of Tasmania’s famed ‘Huon’ pine, as well as
‘Horizontals’ and other trees. We then departed Teepookana,
descending into the Gorge, flying down river to Macquarie
Harbour, with views from Hells Gates to Henty Sand Dunes,
whilst following the old Abt Railway route. A slight head
wind, added to the flight excitement and too soon, the
flight was over.
