The
township of Coles Bay is on a small peninsula of land that
separate two beaches, that is part of the Freycinet
Peninsula, at the northern edge of the Freycinet National
Park. Only 178 km from Launceston or 212 km from Hobart it
is mainly a
resort, tourist and fishing destination.
With views of
pink granite peaks and dramatic cliffs dropping into the
sea, there is much to see and enjoy in the district,
including white beaches, crystal clear water, boating,
fishing, swimming, bush and beach walking, kayaking, 4WD
motor bike tours, bicycle hire, boat charters, scenic
flights and oyster farm tours. Coles Bay is an ideal
place to make your base.
