 Apsley
Gorge Lookout and Waterhole
• Enjoy breathtaking views from
the viewing platform above the Apsley River, then stroll down to the waterhole
for a swim. 15 minute return walk.
Apsley Gorge
• When weather permits, enjoy tranquil
pools and undisturbed river scenes. 3-4 hours return.
Heritage and Leeaberra Falls
• Walk to the campsite then
downstream to the top of Heritage Falls. Trek down the falls
to the top of Leeaberra Falls, then return. Approximately
5-7 hours return.
 Walks
from Thompsons Marshes
• This is great for 4WD. Turn off
the Tasman Highway approximately 22 km north of Bicheno,
opposite cattle yards. Head west on Forestry ‘E’ Road, and
follow the signs.
This fungi belongs to the Jelly Fungi group, and is called Tremella
mesenterica.
