Located on the east coast
between Bicheno and
St Marys, Douglas Apsley National Park has a large relatively undisturbed area of dry
eucalypt forest. Encompassing the catchments of the
Douglas, Apsley and Denison Rivers, it features spectacular
gorges, dolerite capped plateau, rocky forested hills, heathlands, pockets of
rainforest, cascades and waterfalls, that includes the Heritage Falls on
the Douglas River and the Apsley Gorge.With sweeping coastal vistas, the
parks offers some great and varied bush tracks, that provide opportunities to
see some of the fantastic flora and fauna, that include native orchids,
banksias, she-oak and heath.
