Freycinet Peninsula / Freycinet National Park - Cities, Towns and Localities

The peninsula is part of the Freycinet National Park, located on Tasmania’s east coast, featuring secluded beaches and coves, and many wonderful birds, animals and plants. The park has several campsites and lodges, although you need to bring your own drinking water available from the nearby township of Coles Bay.

There are some great bushwalks, including the return trek to Wineglass Bay.

Wineglass Bay Lookout
• trek up the saddle between two granite peaks to the lookout and enjoy the famous spectacular views over Wineglass Bay. 1 to 1½ hours return.

Wineglass Bay
• after enjoying the spectacular views from the lookout, continue down tot he white sands and crystal clear waters of the beach. 2 to 2½ hours return.

Wineglass Bay, Hazards Beach Circuit
• at the north end of Wineglass Bay, turn right onto the Isthmus track to Hazards Beach. Walk around the base of Mount Marion, then back to the car park. Approximately 5 hours (11 km).
