Geeveston - Cities, Towns and Localities
The village of Geeveston is located just 60 km south west of Hobart on the Huon Highway.

Geeveston is your gateway to Tasmania’s far south region, and is an ideal place to make your base from which to visit the number of attractions including the Tahune Forest Airwalk, Hasting Caves and Thermal Springs and the magnificent Hartz Mountains.

North of the village along the Huon River is the Panorama Vineyard, whilst to the east at Port Huon, you can enjoy a river cruise.

The Forest and Heritage Centre is the most southerly Tasmanian Visitor Centre and is the gateway to the Southern Forests and World Heritage Hartz Mountains National Park and Far South region. The Centre offers a wonderful opportunity to gain a hands on visual and interpretation of forest practices, both past and present. The Centre is made up of four different sections that include The Forest Room, The Hartz Gallery, Craft Shop and Tourism Information.

The Huon Trail
• The Huon Trail is a touring route by which you can explore the world of mountains and sea. You can whet your appetite with a virtual journey by checking out their website.

• The Centre offers a wonderful way to gain a hands on and visual interpretation of forest practices, both past and present, before going out into working forest regions where you can observe areas which have been preserved alongside areas which are being used to harvest our Tasmanian timbers. There are four different section in the Centre to explore - they include The Forest Room, The Hartz Gallery, Craft Shop and Tourism Information.

• Opened daily - closed Tuesday, Good Friday and Christmas Day.
• The vineyard is located north of Geeveston just outside of Huonville and overlooking the Huon River. There is cellar door sales daily and the beautifully appointed wine tasting room is set in the magnificent surroundings of the vineyard. There is also the Panorama Cellar Door located at 2273 Huon Highway, Grove.
