The Hastings, is a very small settlement about 104 km south of Hobart on the
Huon Highway. Its popularity today is in part due to the Hastings Caves and
Thermal Springs. Those planning a visit to the Hastings Cave State Reserve
will find the place well equipped for visitors, with the main facilities located
near the Visitor Centre. At the Visitor Centre you can purchase cave tour and
thermal pool tickets, as well as learn about the unique values of the area from
the helpful staff and interpretation displays. Food is also available at the
Visitor Centre. The Thermal Springs are located near the Visitor Centre and
have wheelchair accessible toilets and changing rooms with showers. There are
also picnic tables, and a shelter hut containing electric barbecues, powerpoints
and open fireplaces with wood are provided. Hastings Pool is fed by pure spring
water which maintains a constant temperature of 28 degrees Celcius year round.
