Located on the Tasman Peninsula in the far south of Tasmania, Port Arthur began operating in 1830 as a timber station. It became a prison settlement for male convicts in 1833.

There are guided historical walking tours, including a ghost tour, air tours and a harbour cruise in summer.

Another must see is the historic Isle of the Dead tour which introduces you to the people who lived and died at the settlement.

It is a unique piece of Australian history and a must see destination, attracting tourist from around the Australia and the world.
