Ulverstone - Cities, Towns and Localities
Centrally situated on the north-west coast of Tasmania, and located on the banks of the Leven River in a area of spectacular scenery, Ulverstone is the ideal place to stop and from which to take time to visit the surrounding region. There are beaches, parks and picnic spots. The hinterland offers cascading waterfalls, deep canyons and gorges, limestone caves, rolling pastures and forests. Highlights in the region include the famous Leven Canyon, Mole Creek and the Gunns Plains Cave.

Ulverstone itself offers parklands, war memorials, waterslide, Ulverstone Lookout, History Museum, Ulverstone Miniature Railway, as well as a number of craft shops - the Woodcraft Guild Gallery Workshop displays a diverse range of local woodcraft.

The Ulverstone Visitor Information Centre was opened on the 20th December, 2004 to visitors. The Centres official opening by the Hon. Paul Lennon MHA was conducted on 4th February 2005. The Ulverstone Visitor Information Centre is open 7 days a week from 9am to 5pm (closed Christmas Day) and offers a full range of visitor services. The Centre provides public toilets (including disabled and nursing mothers), souvenir sales, visitor and community information, audio, visual and community displays. Come in for a friendly welcome, have a look around our new Centre and find out about Tasmania’s Central Coast.
