Aireys Inlet - Cities, Towns and Localities

Part of the renowned Great Ocean Road, Aireys Inlet is located midway between Torquay and Lorne, nestled between the marine park and Angahook Lorne State Park, which is now part of the newly declared Great Otway National Park.

Aireys Inlet is one of four hamlets, that include nearby Fairnhaven, Moggs Creek and Eastern View, providing a quiet, relaxed alternative to the more commercial centres along the route of the Great Ocean Road.

Aireys Inlet Attractions

Angahook Lorne State Park (Great Otway National Park)
The former Angahook Lorne State Park mostly follows the Great Ocean Road on its southern border, with a number of major turn-offs into the park. Encompassing more than 22,000 hectares, the park contains steep timbered ridges, deep gullies, hill country, coastal cliffs, coves and sandy beaches. With waterfalls and fern gullies, the northern area around Aireys Inlet contains heathland of great floral diversity with some 46 species of orchids, and over 20 threatened plant species.

Declared in 1987, when the Anglesea and the Lorne Forest Parks were combined, Angahook Lorne State Park is now incorporated into the newly declared Great Otway National Park.
