Small reserve split by the Princess Hwy near Cann River
in far north east Victoria. About 30km west of Cann River is
the start of the scenic Bemm River walk which meanders
alongside the Bemm and McKenzie rivers for approx 1km. The
walkway is paved and there are several swing bridges that
cross the rivers. The flora is magnificent consisting of
massive ancient tree ferns, warm temperate rainforests with
sunlight barely peaking through the canopy. The location is
isolated and is an ideal habitat for native birds and
animals to call home covering only 650ha. The reserve is
also home to a large variety of frogs that make their home
in this moist environment. Not completely suitable for
disabled access as there are some steps along the pathway. For additional information contact the: |
