Eildon is a popular short break destination for many visitors from Melbourne, being located about 140 km (about 2 hours drive) north-east of the state capital.

Freshwater Discovery Centre

• Open 11 am to 4 pm Friday to Monday / Everyday during school holidays
• A visit to the Freshwater Discovery Centre at Snobs Creek gives an insight into the breeding of native fish. The centre has a range of aquarium and displays, including trout touch tanks and a large feeding pond where visitors can get close to fish and hand feed them. There are audio visual presentation that outline the history and provide some background to our key fish species, restocking programs that protect and restoring fish environments, so that generations into the future can enjoy the species. As well as the static displays there are guided tours around the Research Facility for educational groups.
