A small, friendly idyllic village nestled in the Fyans valley within the Wonderland Range, one of the popular parts of the Grampians and the national park. There are plenty of activities allowing you the visitor to revel in natural surroundings of spectacular rock formations, canyons and lookouts, whilst enjoying bushwalking, mountain climbing, bird watching, swimming or just plain relaxing.

First traversed by Europeans in 1836 the Grampians Mountain Range was named after the Grampians in Scotland. As the region around the Grampians slowly developed a few holiday homes and huts were setup to house workers for the nearby Grampians to Stawell water scheme where present day Halls Gap now exists.

Over the intervening years the village has grown slowly to accommodate the many visitors to the region. Today you will find accommodation of all types in and around the town. Bushwalks and lookouts abound around the area providing a fascinating location to get away from the pressures of city life.
