Located on a narrow peninsula of land that separates Bancroft Bay and Lake King
is the small township of Metung.
Set in the heart of the Gippsland Lakes, this idyllic waterside location, offers some great
activities, whether it is just scenic walks starting with an early morning
stroll along the boardwalk, a swim at Metung beach, bush walking, boating and fishing.
There are boats for hire or enjoy a
cruise tour that takes in the lake system up to Lakes Entrance.
The farmers market is popular, being held monthly on the second Saturday of the
month, take in the arts and galleries, a spot of golf or take a scenic drive
around the region and explore the hinterland.
