Glow Worms
•
On a dark night, sheltered beneath the thick rainforest canopy, you feel like
you are surrounded by thousands of tiny stars. These star lights are ‘glow
worms’, not actually worms but the larvae of fly-like insects called
‘fungus gnats’. Two of the best spots to experience this night time phenomenon
is at
Maits Rest and Melba Gully in the
Great Otway National Park.
