Paynesville - Cities, Towns and Localities |
|
Located in the heart of the Gippsland Lakes region and calling itself ‘the
Boating Capitol of Victoria’, the holiday resort town of Paynesville is surrounded by water on three sides,
with direct access to Lake King just to the north and Lake Victoria, just to the
south. Formerly a shipbuilding town, Paynesville today is renown for its water
sports, windsurfing, water skiing, jet skiing, and abundant fishing. Just
metres off the coast of Paynesville is Raymond Island, accessible via the
Raymond Island Ferry. Predominantly residential, the island offers some
bushwalking trails. There is also an artificial island that grew out of the
development of a network of canals that provided absolute waterfront residential
properties, Burrabogie Island.

The town
maintains it’s maritime history with good facilities for boat repairs, servicing
and boat hires. It is also the base of a large commercial fishing fleet and home
of the Lakes Yacht Club. Check out our range of
Paynesville
