Tatura - Cities, Towns and Localities
Steeped in history, that includes the seven Prisoner of War Camps that was in operation around the district during World War II, there is also the German War Cemetery and one of the most significant war time museums in Victoria.

With its close proximity to Shepparton and the greater region, Tatura also plays hosts to a number of annual events, from the well renowned food and wine festival ‘The Taste of Tatura’ to ‘International Dairy Week’, as well as some horse racing calendar events.

• International Dairy Week (IDW) is the largest annual dairy cattle show and sale in the Southern Hemisphere and is amongst the top five shows in the world. It is indisputably the most prestigious event in the dairy industry, showcasing the best quality dairy cattle to over 6,000 visitors from every state in Australia and over 20 countries internationally. The event showcases the best from Australia's dairy breeds including Holstein, Jersey, Illawarra, Brown Swiss, Ayrshire and Guernsey.

• A family owned business comprising fruit growing, packing and export and domestic sales with 860 acres of orchard and a large packing/cool-storage facility. With over 50 different varieties of fruit, work is available during the harvest period. The harvest period usually commences mid-November, peaking in mid January to late February, when approximately 150-200 extra fruit pickers will be needed.
