Located approximately 70 km north-west of Melbourne, in the beautiful Macedon
Ranges is the small town of Woodend. For most visitors to Woodend the town is
encapsulated by its charming High Street precinct, with its historical buildings
and clock tower. Between some of the festival events found throughout the
region, you should take the opportunity to spend some time browsing and enjoying
all that is on offer.
Activities and attractions include exploring the reputed hideout
of infamous bushrangers such as Mad Dog Morgan, the famous Hanging Rock, the scenic bushland
of Macedon Regional Park, self-guided cycling tour, visiting the wineries and
cellar doors for some wine-tasting, enjoying a bit of golf with the panoramic
views to be had from the eleventh hole, and browsing the antiques and craft shops,
as well as partaking of the local produce in the restaurants and cafes.
