Discovered in 1616 by Captain Dirk Hartog, the island was established in the late 1800’s as a pastoral station.

This unique farmstay experience on a sheep station offers over 152,000 acres of wilderness, forming the western boundary of the Shark Bay World Area. To the east, the island is bound by bays which house the largest area of natural sea grass, and offers the opportunities to enjoy waters filled with dugongs, turtles, giant manta rays, whale sharks, whales and other marine life. During your stay, you can enjoy diving, snorkelling, fly fishing, boat fishing, rock fishing, with campers have also witnessed the hatching of baby turtles laid by the Loggerhead Turtles.
