The Blackwood River is the longest river winding its way through the South West
region of Western Australia,
travelling some 270 km before entering the sea.
It winds its way through a wooded valley region that is the start of tall
timber country melding into a landscape of rolling hills, patchwork farms and
soaring 50 metre high karri forests. The river lends its name to this valley, serves as a link to the
communities and provides an agricultural lifeline.
