Capel Wetlands
and Bunburys Big Swamp
Are migratory destination and home to
scores of waterbirds. This wetlands and mangroves from the bird
hides and viewing points nestled right amongst them. Capel Wetlands
comprises over 14 ponds developed from rehabilitated excavation
areas. Tours of this sanctuary can be arranged by appointment
through the Bunbury Tourist Bureau. Bunburys Big Swamp is also an
excellent place to walk or cycle with an extensive dual use path
system. There is also a 200 metre boardwalk that gives you a closer
look at the unique white Mangroves ecosystem in Bunburys Leschenault Inlet.

Approx two hours south of Perth and operated by the Bunbury
Dolphin Trust,
The Dolphin Discovery Centre offer shore-based and boat-based interaction
with wild dolphins as well as dolphin watching tours and an educational Interpretive Centre. Koombana Bay is home to over 100 bottlenose dolphins and the best
time to see them is between 8 am and noon.

Kangaroo Paw can be seen in abundance throughout the immediate
bushlands surrounding Bunbury. There are a number of tours with
trained guides provide details about various species of the local
bush and flora.
