One of Western Australias premier seaside resort towns, located
just over 230 km south of Perth and a stone throw north-east of
Margaret River, Busselton is sheltered from most prevailing winds
and offers a fantastic playground with the waters of
Geographe Bay
and about 30 km of beautiful white sandy beaches. The region is
enjoyed by water skiers, windsurfers, snorkellers, scuba divers,
fishermen, as well as the more leisurely beach activities.
The industry of the
region includes dairy, beef cattle, sheep and other farming produce. It is also
well established with many vineyards, including the award winning Margaret River
Wines. Visitors here will find the Capes throughout the region dotted with over
50 vineyards and wineries. One can enjoy tasting the many wines, as well as
enjoying some of the great cafes and restaurants.
Spring is also a beautiful period, with many wildflowers in full
bloom, including kangaroo paws, cats paws, acacias, pink vine,
donkey and spider orchids.
