Dalwallinu - Cities, Towns and Localities
Located north-east of Perth on the Great Northern Highway is the township of Dalwallinu and Dalwallinu Shire, part of the vast WA’s Wheat Belt Region.

A sheep and wheat farming region Dalwallinu is the administrative centre for the Shire and a popular stopover destination being located in the heart of ‘wildflower country’, and the first town of ‘The Wildflower Way’. The area is also renowned for the wattle trees, being celebrated during the September ‘Wattle Week Festival’.

The Shire of Dalwallinu has grown beyond that of just an agricultural centre, it also has a number of historic and natural attractions, and offers a number of places to stay, especially for those here for the wildflower season or en-route to other WA destination.

Other townships in the Shire are Pithara located south of Dalwallinu, Kalannie located north-east of Dalwallinu, Wubin and Buntine located north of Dalwallinu.

The original inhabitants were the nomadic groups/tribes of Aborigines.

With the appearance of white Europeans, the first graziers in the area were the Benedictine monks from New Norcia, who shepherd sheep through the area to Mount Gibson, during the second half of the nineteenth century. European explorers and settlers appeared during the early 1900s.
