Guildford is the historic gateway to the
Swan Valley in Perths eastern
region, a river precinct. Strolling the streets of Guildford is to experience a
charming little village, where history is still evident in the quaint colonial
buildings, the whole town being classified by the National Trust. Pick up the
self-guided heritage Walk Trails from the Swan Valley Visitor Centre. Here you
can view Guildfords original courthouse (c.1866) and the interpretive displays
about the regions past. As well as the heritage, enjoy some unique shopping,
browsing through the antiques, galleries and speciality gift shops. There is
also the Guildford Heritage Art Markets that are held on the third Sunday of the
month.
