Located approximately 440 km southeast of Perth, the Shire of Jerramungup is the
western gateway to the world famous Fitzgerald River National Park. The town is
situated at the junction of two major highways, the South Coast and the
covers an area of some 645,110 hectares that include the towns of Jerramungup
and Bremer Bay and the districts of Needilup, Jacup, Gairdner and Boxwood Hill.
is derived from the Aboriginal name meaning Place of the tall Yate Trees.
