King Leopold Range Conservation Park - Cities, Towns and Localities
A vast conservation park covering some 392,100 hectares, named after King Leopold of Belgium in 1879 by a Mr Alexander Forest, who first explored this vast region and opened up the area to settlement by graziers.

The park has only recently been established being gazetted in August 2000 by then Premier Mr Richard Court. He emphasized at the time it was listed that this region of West Australia remains the only portion not to have seen native species become extinct since the arrival of Europeans. The park straddles almost the entire length of the spectacular King Leopold Ranges, one of the oldest ranges on Earth, and contains significant remnant rainforest pockets, and a variety of rare flora and fauna.

Access to the park is via the Gibb River Rd and is only accessibly by 4WD.
